Denise Purvis is a Licensed Clinical Professional counselor, Nationally Board Certified counselor, Certified Alcohol and other Drug counselor, and Certified Co-occuring Disorder counselor.  Denise holds a doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision.  She has almost 25 years of experience in the counseling field within diverse clinical settings and currently maintains a private practice.  Additionally, she is a full-time faculty member for the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program at Judson University and an adjunct faculty member for Southern New Hampshire University. She supports a holistic view of  mental wellness within her clinical practice and teaching.    
 
Denise Nichols is an Occupational Therapist, and owner of Motivate Therapy. Motivate Therapy is an outpatient rehab clinic that specializes in providing whole-body health treatment approaches towards pelvic floor, chronic pain and illness conditions for men and women. She is board certified in pelvic floor therapy and biofeedback for pelvic floor muscle dysfunction. She authored the book “Your Selfcare Matrix.”
 
 
Jody Perrecone is the owner of her own business, Perrecone Wellness, and working together, helps people achieve their health goals. In addition to being a certified nutrition consultant, Jody has a plant-based nutrition certification from e-Cornell University, faculty status with WELCOA (Wellness Council of America), and is a certified facilitator for the Complete Health Improvement Program (CHIP).  She is passionate about working with people one-on-one to help them successfully overcome their health concerns and help them reach their wellness goals through diet and nutrition. Jody has also given presentations on various health topics to work groups including Frito Lay, Harlem School District, University of Illinois College of Medicine students, Freeport School District, Rock Valley College, SupplyCore, and Mended Hearts at Swedish American Hospital.

Meeting/Event Information

RNPW meets September through June, with luncheons held on the third Tuesday of each month at Rockford University’s Regents Hall in the Burpee Student Center, 5050 East State Street, Rockford, Illinois. Special events like our Kick-Off in September, Holiday Party in December, and Professional Development Day in April follow a different schedule.

Non-members and guests are welcome to attend up to two meetings before joining is required. No member referral is necessary to attend or become a member.

Join Us

The 2026–2027 Program Year luncheon series will be announced at the September 22nd Kickoff Event at Hidden Creek. Our Program Committee carefully selects dynamic speakers to share their expertise and inspire our members. To attend, follow the “More Info” link for each month’s topic to register. Pre-registration is required to help ensure a smooth and enjoyable event for all.

Weather Cancellation Policy

If a meeting must be canceled due to weather, RNPW follows this policy approved by the Board:

  • Meetings will be canceled on any day that Rockford Public Schools close due to snow (cold closures do not apply).
  • An e-blast will be sent to the newsletter mailing list under the direction of the President.
  • Announcements will also be posted on our website and social media channels.
  • The Program Chair, or the person who coordinated with the speaker, will contact the speaker as soon as possible.
  • Rockford University, our venue, will be notified immediately by the Reservation Chair or President.

  • The Public Relations Chair will update social media accordingly.
